Earlier this summer i stumbled upon a 9gag,...gag, about DIY stuff, if i do find it later on i'll post it all the same, but one of those projects showed how to transfer images onto anything via 'Gel Medium'. Suffice it to say, I was immensely impressed and decided to use the technique for my own personal use and experimentation, youtubing a couple of links and finally finding a close enough substitute to the matte gel medium mentioned in most videos i started applying and waiting.
| With Varying results........ |
There are a fair few techniques out there, using various mediums and application methods. Having tried applying the stuff both on the surface being "Tattooed" and also on hte actual print itself, the later proved to be far FAR more effective.
| The Gel itself, got it from Paras at Khadda Market |
Having a guitar lying around, already sanded I just went ahead and started applying. Had to Wait a full 10 hours for the image from the poster i got from a music magazine to dry and transfer onto the gel. See, what happens is that the gel absorbs the ink from the image as it is and hardens and sticks on the opposing surface/canvas. This creates a layer like a sticker so its not really a tattoo.just feels like one since the rich texture of the wood seeps through any area on the image thats white. Below are a few of photos of the finished transfer.
In Hindsight it could have been, a LOT better.

Finally, heres a clip of one of the youtube videos i saw that helped guide me on the way:
